Methyl Ethyl Ketone, Herself
Here we see the girl resting after receiving stitches. She had a very near escape.
It was early October, 2006. At that time I allowed her to play outside. It had always been safe enough and she knew her way around.
I was probably sitting right here in this very chair when I noticed some strange thumping sounds outside the back door on the porch. This continued for a moment or two until I figured I had better go investigate.
What I discovered was that two local Pit Bulls had Ethyl cornered on our very own back porch! And she had been bitten. It appeared that at least one of the bulls had taken her fully into his mouth and sunk his teeth in!
The dogs were chased off. The funny thing was that the dogs seemed to feel they had done nothing wrong. They were perfectly friendly towards us, the buggers! The owners were given the opportunity to pay her vet bill, but never did.
End result was survival and stitches, and she lived for several more years.
She was a very brave girl. She didn't fuss about her stitches or anything. Completely chill!
What a girl!
