The Days Of The Cat

Here at the MEOW, we recognize that every day is a cat day. For instance, Sunday has become Suzday, Tuesday has become Tootsday, Wednesday is now Butter Your Cat Day, and of course Saturday is universally known as Caturday. The cats have conquered this space. We accept it and we surrender. But as if that wasn't enough, some felines always want more. Humans stand aside, they want the whole dang calendar! 



Just last evening, Toots reminded me that August 8th is International Cat Day. Apparently on this most special day, the entire planet is supposed to pay homage to the furry, kibble-crunching alien overlords in our midst, who are masquerading as our cats. How could we forget?



So in order to make amends, we humbly ask forgiveness for our forgetfulness, and offer up a Caturday open thread in honor of cats everywhere. Meow!



Here is a list of Cat Days, maybe not exhaustive, but you get the idea. They've even dispensed with days in some cases and just taken entire months. Also bear in mind that to a cat's way of thinking, pet is just another word for cat.
