“Toots! Hey Toots,” said Suzy. “It worked! It worked! Did
you hear?”
“We did it! We did it, Suzy!” said Toots nearly jumping up and
down.
“We Purred™ the world right side up!” said Suzy. “I bet none of them know it was us!”
“The power of the Purr™ is incredible,” purred Toots.
Just then, Willie woke up, and wandered in where his sister was in conference with Toots. He was hungry, but he wondered what all the excitement was about. The girl was hyper-ventilating. Well almost.
“What’s all the excitement, Suzzo?” he inquired kindly, like the kindly brother that he was.
“Me and Toots found out the world was wrong side up for years now,” announced Suzy. “We heard people talking. It’s been awful and they didn’t even tell us. I suppose they didn’t want us to worry about our food getting too expensive, or the house getting cold!
“Some bad people worked and sneaked around and lied and stole from everyone, and it turned the world upside down!” she said in an awed voice.
“No. No one told us,” agreed Willie. “Does Sammie know?”
“Well, sure. We lady cats went to work as soon as we heard,” explained Suzy.
“What happened?” asked Willie, even though he was in a hurry to find some kibble in the kitchen.
“As soon as we heard, well overheard, to tell the truth, we got busy last night while people all over were also trying to turn the world back the right side up!” said Suzy. “Toots and Sammie and I all got together on the same wavelength and with righting wrongs in mind, we Purred™ for maybe an hour until we felt things moving a little!
“And it worked! It worked!” exulted Suzy, still in touch with Toots, who was nodding vigorously back at her place, and at the same time keeping a sharp eye on the window that was her duty station.
“You’re good girls, if a little nuts, all three of you,” grinned Willie, indulgently. “Turning the world right side up is a big order! I’m just happy it worked.” He wandered out to the kitchen leaving Suzy alone on the back porch, where night was coming on and things were getting dark. He was thinking about crunching up some of the kibble that had always been there, and now would always be there for sure.
“I think we deserve a nice long nap,” said Toots. “Sammie agrees.”
“I do too,” said Suzy. So, they all said “Mrrrrt!” together and cut the connection, but just for this night.
There would be more important business some other day, surely!
